So a friend of mine needed an illustration done for a childrens Church activity. (So this isn't EXACTLY a storybook illustration, but that was the closest category I could fit it into.)

This piece is actually the first collaboration I've ever done. Ever. I was feeling nervous starting so I convinced my awesome brother ~Phantom-Seraph to help me out and start it for me. So he immediately sat down and roughed out this dude. So it is ultimately in his style, and not really in a style that I have ever done myself. He had to go pretty quick so I had to sit down and erase anatomy lines and tighten things it up. I guess it changed his original drawing a bit, but I tried to stay as true to the original style as I knew how. I also added a few things like the (red) scarf, the wall and of course the rocks and arrows. Then this morning I started coloring like crazy because it needed to be done by 1:30-2:00 PM! It was crazy! I couldn't find my watercolor pencils, and my markers were almost dried up (plus I didn't really want to use markers.) The only art supplies I could find were my regular colored pencils, which I haven't used in FOREVER. But, it had to be done, so I sucked it up and did it. Hopefully the results are okay. I must confess I had some fun mixing colors in the rock wall.

But yes. It was find of cool to finish something someone else started. I think I'm going to have to suggest an activity like that for my artists critique group, just because I think it's a good way to sort of branch out from the norm of what one usually draws. Oh, and I still need to get this signed by my bro. Hopefully my friend gives it back in one piece. :hope:
