So far this year (2010) has been pretty good. (knock on wood.)
Lots of life improving things have come into my life within these past few months. Mostly in the form of great books. I went through a bit of postpartum depression after my baby was born last December and I really feel like one of the main things that helped me pull out of it was reading lots of good, and/or fun books.
Aside from all the fun one's like books by; Jessica Day George, Gail Carson Levine and of course the final Fablehaven (Brandom Mull), the new "Theif" book (Megan Whalen Turner), as well as listening to Harry Potter, and Spiderwick on CD . . . There are a few books that truly have been life changing.
Some life changing novels I've read include:
Tuesdays with Morrie, Mitch Albom
A great book to help one see life through a new perspective.
The Enchanted April, Elizabeth von Arnim
A beautiful book that might help you find the happiness that is hiding within you.
Now to some more self help style books that are truly life changing.
It's Just My Nature, Carol Tuttle
Discover the nature you were born with and learn how to be true to all your natural positive, in born talents. Also understand those around you better. Learn what element best represents you, and how to enhance it. Energy Profiling is amazing! Everyone in the world should read this book!
The 7-Day Back Pain Cure, Cannone Jesse
I'm all about alternative health care and finding out how to care for myself by working with and not against mother nature. So anything drug free is always interesting to me. This book has helped me understand why I have had so much pain and so many problems with my back for most of my life. It all makes so much sense, but the best part is all the natural, reasonable solutions that the author offers. I haven't had a chance to implement most of them yet, but I look forward to a pain free future!
Now for more visible, tangible life changes, I give you . . .
Creation Plan: A Seven Day Approach to Guilt Free Homemaking, Betty Meyers
This book makes every day tasks actually seem possible and helps this very disorganized person feel like organization is possible and even exciting!
So if any of you are looking for something good to read, here is a great list! Enjoy!

Portraits
I decided it was high time to update this again. 2009 was an eventful year for me, there were a lot of sad things that happened, deaths and other losses, more than I can ever remember there being in a single year. There were good things too. I did a lot of portraits for my sister who's an Interior Designer so she could promote her business and try to make ends meet after losing her house. I think most of them turned out really well so I thought I'd better post some of them to show that this is something I do.
In other news I had another beautiful baby girl at the very end of the year. Hence I will be even more busy, but also more poor s
Hand Painted Pillows
I had a crazy idea a few months ago and came up with these hand painted pillows.
They aren't the best paintings I've ever done, but it was a fun project, and it was good to paint again.
Anyways, they are now on my Etsy shop in case anyone is interested in seeing them here: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=18079317

Let me know what you think, and if anyone has any ideas for cool painted pillows I could do, it would be much appreciated.
Trying to Get Moving!
First, let me say that if you got a notice that I added such and such a piece of yours to the collection "Inspiring Style", you don't have to thank me because chances are you already did when I first faved your piece forever ago.
I just have been going through my favs and organizing them into collections a bit. The "inspiring style" one is the one that has all the art that I look at and say to myself, "I think I wanna do something kinda like that." So I'm trying to get these pieces all in one place so I can figure out what style it is that I really like the best and want to develop in my art.

V-day report and me getting older . . .
Well, the day after tomorrow is my Birthday! I bet you can all guess the exact age I'm turning, because apparently I look my age now, even though all growing up everyone always thought I was older. I guess now that I actually am older it's a good thing I don't still look older. I hope. I'm way excited for tonight though, because tonight I get to go on a real true date with my hubby! I think he's taking me to the Bombay House, which is awesome, 'cause I LOVE Indian Food! Plus, they have nice romantic lighting, (and no husband distracting TVs.)
Valentine's was fun. We went to this Dancing with the Stars dance with Jake's family, they all
